About Giving

Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. —2 Corinthians 9:7.

For attendees at Cedar Valley Church, financial offerings are a regular part of our worship experience.

We believe giving acknowledges that everything we have comes from God. The practice checks our greed, promotes personal discipline and thrift, testifies to our faith, promotes God’s work in the world, and alleviates human need. While we do not believe tithing to be a condition for salvation, we do believe it is a very important biblical model, one that should set the minimal standard for Christian giving for people of all income ranges.

The attitude with which our tithe is given is also very important. God loves a cheerful giver. Giving with a grudging spirit loses much of the blessing that can come when we faithfully give out of love rather than obligation.

Traditional Giving
You can give by dropping your gift in an offering plate during services, leaving your gift at the main office, placing it in the secured drop box by volunteer room 288, or sending it by mail.

Please note: due to changes in the tax code, individuals who want charitable income credit must have a receipt for all contributions from that institution. In order to receive a receipt from Cedar Valley Church at the end of the year, each of your contributions must be placed in an envelope with your name and address on it. For your convenience, Cedar Valley provides giving envelopes at each service. Feel free to use your own envelope.
