The Boldness Factory
The Boldness Factory
In Acts 3-4, we see great examples of bold witnesses as they stand firm in Christ, pray, and stay united together. In Acts 3, the healing of a blind man opens an opportunity for Peter to speak about Jesus but also leads to persecution as Peter and John are arrested. They experience pressure and an attempt to silence them, but they respond with greater boldness. Instead of isolating themselves after their arrest, they go to the Church for comfort, strength, and prayer. We see a pattern emerge: pressure drives us to community, community leads us to prayer, prayer brings power, and power produces boldness. Too often we struggle to speak because we’re trying to stand alone, but boldness is formed in community and fueled by real experience with Jesus. We’re built up in here, so we can speak up out there.
