Pass It On

Every generation has something to pass on, but nothing is more important than passing on the truth of who God is and what He has done. Psalm 78 reminds us of this: Our calling isn’t simply to preserve information about God, but to help the next generation experience His transforming power for themselves. We tell the stories of God’s faithfulness so that each generation will put their hope in Him, follow Him, and then pass that same faith on to those who come after them. If we fail to do that, we are always just one generation away from forgetting God. Whether we’re parents, grandparents, mentors, or simply followers of Jesus, our greatest legacy isn’t our preferences, traditions, or accomplishments—it’s pointing the next generation to Jesus and helping them know Him personally. Pass on more than information; pass on transformation.
