Let’s come together to pray!
7-Day Call to Prayer
National Day of Prayer Week
Sunday, May 3–Saturday, May 9, 2026
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May. It invites people of all faiths to pray for the United States, its leaders, and its citizens. Established by Congress in 1952 and signed by President Truman, it serves as a day of public, voluntary prayer to unite the nation.
Cedar Valley is joining in with a seven-day call to prayer during the week of the National Day of Prayer.
Church, let’s come together to pray for our:
- Families
- Communities
- Government leaders
- First responders
- The vulnerable
In addition to praying individually, we’re asking Life Groups that meet this week to set aside their gatherings for guided prayer. Below is a short teaching on prayer, specific prayer prompts, and— for groups—an additional guide to help facilitate meaningful prayer time.
